The
aim of post operative evaluation is to oversee the
recovery from surgery and secondarily the psycho-social
adjustment and cosmetic result following surgery. This
will incorporate clinical psychology and surgical followup.

Post
surgery - seen by psychiatrists and surgeons briefly
in hospital and immediately post discharge (if
required).

Post
operative appointments with the Surgeons after
discharge.

Four
weeks post operative - full psychiatric review (if
required).

Three
months - psychiatric and psychosocial review (if
required).

Three
months - followup by the Surgeons.

Social
worker assessment within first six months for patients
within the Christchurch area (if required).

Psychometric
testing facilities post operative should be available.

One
year followup by Psychiatrists.

One
year followup by Surgeons.
